About Memoria

A small studio. A specific problem. A precise tool.

01

Why this app exists

I take a lot of photos. Whiteboards, slides, screenshots, memes, video recordings of lectures and meetings. After a few years, the library became unsearchable: I knew the photo was there, but I just couldn't find it. Apple Photos can search by object or location, but not by text inside a picture, and not by the words someone said in a video. Google Photos can, but at a cost I wasn't willing to pay. So I built Memoria.

02

The principle

Everything runs on your device. No cloud, no account, no analytics that can be tied to you. Text recognition, transcription, faces and search do the heavy lifting locally, on your device. The only thing that travels over the network is the one-time, optional download of a transcription model.

03

The maker

Memoria is built and maintained by Anas, an independent developer based in France. If you have questions, ideas, or want to report something broken, write to developer@alias.anasouh.fr. Every email is read by a human.

04

The promise

No surprise subscriptions. No data sales. No feature creep that turns the app into something it shouldn't be. Memoria does one thing and aims to do it precisely: make your library findable.
